International Fraud Awareness Week - 12-18 November 2017

Fraud costs organisations worldwide an estimated 5 percent of their annual revenues, according to a study conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
The seriousness of the global fraud problem is why Counter Fraud Services (CFS) is supporting International Fraud Awareness Week, 12-18 November, and promoting anti-fraud awareness and education. Fraud Awareness Week champions the need to proactively fight fraud and help safeguard business and individuals from the growing fraud problem.
During the designated week, CFS will host their bi-annual national counter fraud conference for the Scottish public sector at the COSLA Conference Centre, Haymarket, Edinburgh on 16 November.
Gordon Young, Head of CFS said “The latest statistics tell us that fraud isn’t going away, and organisations that don’t have protective measures in place stand to lose the most. I am delighted that together with all the health boards and other public sector partners in Scotland, we can use initiatives like fraud week to raise staff awareness of this important issue and highlight the potential damage it can inflict on our valued health service”
